Chuck Blattner leads this community ensemble in a concert that will feature local legends the Turkey River All-Stars as they celebrate their 40th anniversary. Band and Choir selections to include the Hoagy Charmichael classic “Stardust”, Leroy Anderson’s “Blue Tango” plus selections from “The Music Man”.
In its 139th year of existence, the Concert Band has become a Rochester institution. Originally named the Rochester Park Band, the band's annual concert in the park still conjures up memories of a time gone by; strolling down to the old bandshell in Mayo Park on a hot summer evening to enjoy the tunes of the day as performed by friends and neighbors. From Broadway hits to patriotic classics, with a dash of classical thrown in for good measure, Chuck and company offer up a little something for everyone; with a few surprises. Nothing says "summer" like a band concert in the park.
