Martha Reeves & the Vandellas

Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee Martha Reeves, one of Motown’s brightest female stars after Diana Ross, was the earthy, gospel-infused counterpart to her rival Ross’ uptown sophistication. This former A&R secretary at Hitsville USA, (Motown's offices/studio), was called in to sing on "I'll Have To Let Him Go" for the Supremes when Mary Wells proved too ill to appear for the recording session. And the rest, as they say, is history.
"Motown's ultimate soul diva" with that unmistakable voice helped define "the sound of young America." With her backing group, the Vandellas, Reeves cut some of the brightest, most infectiously danceable R&B of her time. Her hits are the thing of legend: the Grammy© nominated "Heat Wave," the gospel-tinged "Nowhere to Run," the classic soul favorite "My Baby Loves Me," and her signature, "Dancing In The Street." Martha and the Vandellas ranked #56 on VH1's 100 Greatest Women of Rock N Roll.
With recent SRO performances in the US, the UK, Canada, Slovenia and Italy, Martha Reeves continues to thrill audiences across the globe . . . and always leaves them dancing!
